Each have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's resignation on Monday.

McKenna's Stance on Celtic

McKenna described the Glasgow giants as "an enormous football club" but stressed he is "in the middle" of a "long-term project" with the Championship side.

The mid-thirties assumed control of Portman Road in recent years and guided the team to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only a handful of victories last season as they were demoted back to the Championship and they currently sit 12th in the Championship.

"I have not had any of those discussions," the London-born ex- Northern Ireland young player said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my concentration is currently.

"I have a special position here at a remarkable club. And we're at a crucial stage of the campaign. Anything external hasn't reached my radar."

Background and Agreement Aspects

It has been suggested that McKenna would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his boyhood allegiances.

"Growing up, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about these. "It's unlikely everyone has to go around and declare what they were, but naturally it's a really big sports organization."

McKenna signed a fresh multi-year deal in last year and was asked about his alleged buyout clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are things," he responded. "I don't know what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I tackle this job like I will remain Ipswich manager indefinitely. I understand that's not always going to be the case, but I will consistently give maximum effort as long as I am here."

Bellamy's Position

The former striker played for the Hoops on loan from Newcastle United in 2005, but the former Welsh striker is minded to finish the ongoing World Cup qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Glasgow position.

The Welsh squad are presently third in their World Cup group behind group toppers Belgium and runners-up Macedonia.

Victories over Liechtenstein and their rivals in November would book their place in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually guaranteed of reaching that stage, thanks to a productive European competition campaign, should they not finish as their group runners-up.

Given his present stance, the Wales manager, whose contract expires after Euro 2028, would not be available until following the qualifying matches at the minimum.
