The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific children's author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into reports of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
