Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment tonight and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
