A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side The forward, with half a year left on her contract, is known as a prolific goalscorer for both club and country. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee signing for the Women’s Super League side. Her exit from Munich was expected after she appeared to be holding back emotions while thanking the club's fans following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen this month. It was reported in late December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its leading strikers. Per multiple sources, all the paperwork for the move have now been completed. Consistent Goal Threat to Boost United's Forward Line The experienced striker's arrival is expected to provide a major uplift to the team's forward line. Schüller has been remarkably reliable with her finishing in the Bundesliga. For seven consecutive seasons, including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals. She won the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals. Gathering Momentum at Old Trafford The acquisition of the German international coincides with a period when the club seem to be gathering momentum. Their recent performances include securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a win in the League Cup quarter-finals. In the transfer market, the mid-season window has brought additional activity: The signing of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal. The new deal for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, who has become popular figure since joining in 2023. Regarding Miyazawa’s new deal, a club official stated: “She has become a vital part to the way we play.
