Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The most recent Far Cry instalment that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for embracing action and madness with similar enthusiasm, all while telling engaging, ideologically themed stories. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two visionaries whose creations have represented all of those things.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game series, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' format by having a new location and cast of characters in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also appear in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new long-term contract with the showrunner.

“Getting to work together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX team always encourages me with their constant confidence and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology series. Every title is a take of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can change from season to season, while always exploring the nature of people through this complex and unpredictable viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m eager to partner with Rob and present our shared unconventional, visionary style to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
