The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards took place this past week, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with honors for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.

Enhancing the developer's achievements, its gifted performers also received personal awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its makers achieved 7 awards throughout the event.

Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—judged by critics.
